Clubs RPL have not yet won a single UEFA group stage victory this year. Recall that in Champions League this year, for the first time, three of our clubs perform at once (Zenit, Lokomotiv, Krasnodar), and in Europa League our championship is represented by CSKA Moscow.
In addition to these clubs, Rostov and Dynamo also played in the European competition this season, but these teams were unable to reach the group stage, having been eliminated in the qualifying rounds.
We have three clubs in the Champions League thanks to the fact that Russia took the sixth place in the UEFA coefficient table. Today Russia is already in seventh place and risks dropping even lower when the results of the 16/17 and 17/18 seasons, in which we have the most points, burn out.
Bookmakers have already proposed a line for the final place of Russia at the end of the 2020/2021 season:
- Will stay in seventh place - 1.6 (56%);
- Falls below seventh place - 2.2 (36%);
- Will rise above the seventh - 11.0 (8%).
The seventh place in the table gives us the right to declare two teams in the Champions League: the champion will start immediately from the group stage, and the silver medalist from one of the qualifying rounds.
